Above the village of Werfenweng, on a 900m high plateau, in the middle of the postcard idyll of the Tennengebirge, only 10 minutes from Open Golf St Johann.
What is Wood Ridge. The chalet village consisting of 12 exclusive Canadian log cabins is a unique concept in the Alps. "Simple enjoyment is the real luxury". Guests decide for themselves how often they come into contact with other holidaymakers or the hosts Carolyne and Alois Schwarzenberger, the owners of Wood Ridge. This low-key approach maximises privacy and relaxation.
Luxury in Wood Ridge. From the large terrace you can enjoy a marvellous view of imposing mountains, forests and lush green meadows. Each chalet has luxurious amenities such as a private sauna and an outdoor jacuzzi, a high-quality, cosy interior, fine leather sofas, Canton Blue Tooth system, a fully equipped kitchen and a traditional wood-burning fireplace. You can enjoy massages in your chalet or on the terrace. An absolute highlight is the fine scent of pine and cedar wood and the unrivalled indoor climate.
Wood Ridge is a retreat, a balance to the hustle and bustle of the modern world, but with all the comforts it offers.
The chalets in Wood Ridge. The cabins at Wood Ridge are divided into four different categories. With a romantic four-poster bed, "Little Beaver" is perfect for a couple. The three spacious cabins called "Black Bear" are two-storey and can accommodate 4 people. The largest cabin in Wood Ridge is the "Wild Moose": a stately log cabin construction for up to ten guests with five bedrooms, three bathrooms and an open-plan kitchen. The seven "Silver Wolf" chalets, opened in December 2012, are ideal for couples or small families.
Enjoyment in Wood Ridge. When you arrive on the first morning, our organic breakfast basket will be waiting at your door. Lovingly filled with regional specialities from the Werfenweng farm shop, butter, cheese, milk, yoghurt, eggs, sausage, tea, organic juice, muesli, fruit...and fresh bread rolls of your choice. Breakfast is included in the price and is delivered daily in the morning. If you are allergic or have any intolerances, alternative products will be provided for you individually.
In addition to the many local restaurants, inns and huts, we offer a delivery service of fondue and spare ribs directly to your chalet. Gourmets will also get their money's worth, as there are five star or toque-awarded restaurants within a radius of 35 km.
